Working group 1: Adaptive stiffness and damage mechanisms

Working Group 1 (WG-1) on “Adaptive Stiffness and Damage Mechanisms” is led by Prof. Walther (SP-3, spokes person) and Prof. Junker (SP-7) and focuses on the scientifically based local adjustment of stiffness through knowledge of the quasi-static and cyclic deformation behavior of additively manufactured TPMS lattice structures. This involves developing a mechanism-based understanding of the deformation, damage, and degradation behavior of lattice structures in order to apply this knowledge using in silico methods for the design of implants with a long service life.
